Frequently Asked Questions
for the
American Pet Association’s
Adoption Stimulus Program
Q:
How much does it cost our facility?
A:
Nothing. There
are never any costs, fees or commissions.
If your facility uses
our optional
fundraising programs,
you keep
100% of the funds collected.
Q:
We already offer an in house tag, do we
need the Guardian?
A:
In house tag programs are great, but have costs to your
facility, and use your staff's time. The APA is able to devote staff
and resources specifically to pet recovery and are able to make the
Guardian the most reliable lost and stolen pet recovery available.
Plus, multiple tags on a pet can confuse the finder and be a
nuisance to the pet (see page
5).
Q:
We use microchips, is there any benefit to
adding the Guardian?
A: Yes. Although microchips
can help recover a pet in very specific circumstances, the Guardian
is, overall, five times more effective.
Q:
What is the cost to the pet owner?
A: There is no cost to the pet owner for a full year.
Pet owners can continue in the program
for
specially
reduced membership fees
that are only available to humane center
adoptees.
Q:
Do the pet owners receive restricted
benefits?
A:
No, humane center adoptees actually receive benefits that no other
APA member can receive.
