There is no better way to protect your pet from being lost or stolen that the APA's Guardian Membership.

Many people feel pet microchips are a reliable recovery solution, when in fact they are not. Chips can fail, migrate and have been linked to cancer in pets. In addition, a chipped pet can be recovered only in very specific circumstances.

We do not recommend against pet microchips, they can be helpful in some circumstances, however they should not be solely relied upon.
